Summer has come and gone.
And all that's left are the memories.
Of a blissful day spent in a little piece of paradise.
Of puffy white clouds, powder blue skies and sparkling, aquamarine waters.
Of lovely friends and all the craziness they inspire.
Of sandbars, seafoam and sunshine.
Of cool drinks with colorful umbrellas.
For a little while, the world was absolutely perfect.
If I close my eyes, I can still smell the smoke, feel the mild summer breeze.
It was the kind of day you wish would go on forever.
But the tide came in and streaks of purple colored the horizon.
It was time to say goodbye.
Slowly, dreamily, our boat drifted away with the wind blowing languid promises of summers to come.
Carbin Reef is a beautiful marine sanctuary in Sagay City, in the island of Negros. The tongue-shaped sandbar is a lovely, serene place for a day trip and aside from swimming, it is also a great site for snorkeling. To get there: Carbin Reef is a short drive away from Bacolod City, around one and half-hour by private car. Upon reaching Sagay, proceed to the port where a boat can be rented. It takes around 15 minutes by boat to reach the sandbar. Tents and grills can also be reserved at the port, for a fee. There is nothing else on the islet except the tents and grills, not even a toilet, so be sure to bring everything you need! :)
